1. How does iRoam Global work?
First you need to register an account.
Once you have registered to iRoam Global, you need to load your account with credit. When your account is loaded with credit, you are ready to use the service.
iRoam Global will provide you with a number to forward all of your calls to prior to leaving to travel overseas. You need to update your account that you are travelling and at this time you will be provided with the iRoam Global number to forward your calls to before travelling.
When you arrive at your destination, you will need to place a pre-paid SIM from the country that you are visiting into your mobile phone. When you have your pre-paid SIM, place that number into your account as the foreign SIM, either by SMS to iRoam Global or through the iRoam Global website.
You are now ready to receive calls on from your Australian Mobile number.
To make calls in the country that you have travelled to, just simply phone the landline or mobile number of the person that you wish to speak to within the country that you are visiting.
To make calls internationally (or back to Australia), SMS the number that you wish to call with the country code "006144XXXXXX" back to the iRoam Global SMS Gateway number “+61421447626”. The SMS will look like "006144XXXXXX" (the X’s represent the numbers of your recipient).
You will be called back from the iRoam Global virtual reception which will prompt you with a message which will ask you to press “*” to continue the call. Then your call will be put through to your intended recipient. The recipient will only see your Australian mobile number as you have nominated as your Account (your account number).
Upon your return, remember to turn off the call forwarding on your Australian Mobile SIM. If you do not turn off your call forwarding, you will not receive any calls.

8. What is SMS call back?
SMS call back is a virtual receptionist service from iRoam Global, this enables a iRoam Global subscriber to make calls to any number outside of the country that they are travelling in when you are overseas.
9. How does SMS call back work?
When using the iRoam Global service, to make a call to any number outside of the country that you are travelling in, all that you need to do is SMS the number that you wish to call with the international code. An example of this is to call a landline number, you would need to SMS the international code “00”, the country code “61” (for Australia) and then the number either a landline (which needs to include the area code) or mobile number without the first 0.
This is what an SMS to initiate a call to 03 9XXX XXXX (X’s represent whatever the numbers are that you would like to call) landline would look like;
“006139XXXXXX”
This is what an SMS to initiate a call to a 04XX XXX XXX (X’s represent whatever the numbers are that you would like to call) mobile would look like;
“00614XXXXXXXX”
The SMS call back number to send these SMS’s to is +61421447626 or +614214iRoam.
When you have sent the SMS, wait for a moment to receive a call back from the iRoam Global service. When you get the call, you will be asked to press “*” to proceed with the call to your intended recipient. You will then hear a message “connecting”, which will then call the intended recipient and when they answer the call, simply talk. When you have completed the call, simply hang up.
10. Can anyone use my service to make a call using the SMS call back service?
No. The only number that can initiate an SMS call back needs to be nominated as the foreign number, which is setup on your account by you.
11. What number does the person that I am calling in Australia see when I call them through the SMS call back service?
The person who is receiving a call from an iRoam Global subscriber when overseas is the mobile number or the account number of the subscriber’s iRoam Global account and not an unkown caller ID.
12. How do I know what I have spent on my calls?
Unlike the traditional mobile carriers, you can look at your account at any time to see your call history and costs. This helps you to keep an eye on your telecommunication costs.
